Description: (Posted to STS by Rob Loneragen on March 15, 2004)

For the last 3 months or so Ted Munckton has been wrestling with a health problem. It seems for some inexplicable reason his heart beat had increased to around 120 to 130 bpm, even when he was relaxed. This irregular heart beat has been a concern for Ted and he has sought specialist medical treatment. Various medications didn't seem to do any good so last week, Ted went into hospital and under a general aneisthetic, the Drs. gave Ted an electric shock that literally stopped his heart. Then after a short pause they gave him another electric shock which re-started his heart. This done, Ted's heart immediately resumed a normal heart beat of around 60 bpm.

As you could imagine, this was a great relief to Ted for several reasons. This week he goes to the Dr for his 2 yrly PPL medical. Hopefully the Dr. will give him an all clear for his licence for another 2 yrs. Just wanted to say how very happy I was for Ted that the treatment was successful for him and wishing him all the best for a Green Light from the Dr when he does his Licence medical. For us aging SeaReyians, these can be anxious times.

It's hard to tell...is he signaling a right or left hand turn?

Best wishes Ted. I have a friend with the same problem and that treatment has had him ticking just fine for 10 years.
