JD, I know you were always trying to make a fortune out of SeaReys and now I know you have finally made it. You will no doubt be run off your feet with orders and I wish you well in this new enterprise.

John Robert Dunlop - Jun 10,2006 Viewers | Reply
Hey, Rob what's so new? The SeaRey hats use the same logo and they actually serve a useful purpose. I have just switched to a new navy hat (same gold logo as the badge) that seems to be better quality. We'll see. And yes, Frank has it right. To make a fortune in this business you have to start with a larger fortune.... But then, what are hobbies for?
Victor Wallace Strawbridge - Jun 10,2006 Viewers | Reply
John, on the subject of hats. The very nice hat I greatfully received from you a while back is being used by my lovely wife who is not so well endowed with cranial matter as I(7 3/4 old style). She uses it for gardening and other outdoor activities. And of course when she assists in my kit build and hopefully if she ever dares to fly with me when done. Maybe five or more years ago the one size fits all had the nice stiffened/raised front where the loggo/patch goes. Is your new hat like this or is it of the current style limp in front design?

    Vic
I think that's a function of age, isn't it?

Victor Wallace Strawbridge - Jun 10,2006 Viewers | Reply
Chris, I guess today it is form instead of fuction or maybe an age thing. Or just wear a bandanna. We need a SeaRey Bandanna to outdo the bikers John.

Chris Vernon-Jarvis - Jun 11,2006 Viewers | Reply
'fuction' ? I guess that a Freudian slip?

Victor Wallace Strawbridge - Jun 11,2006 Viewers | Reply
No Chris, that was a grammatical error and I will try to do better. Thank you.

John Robert Dunlop - Jun 11,2006 Viewers | Reply
Vic, the old hat was a softer 'brushed' cotton without reinforcing in the logo area. The new navy cap is not quite as soft and has an inverted V reinforcing area behind the logo. It also has a 'Patented Elastic Buckle' (PEB) with hidden velcro adjustment. Seems to be a bit better fit. I don't know how it will stand up in the dishwasher though..

    You got three seats?!

In the mail tomorrow Charlie..

Frank A. Carr - Sep 03,2006 Viewers | Reply
    Don,
I like your placement on the seats--just where they are. I was thinking of doing the same. PA should make
them standard issue.

Don Maxwell - Sep 05,2006 Viewers | Reply
Frank C. it needed only about an hour with a curved needle and black thread to get them to stay there. (It was the first time I'd sewn on a patch since the army.)

Some people don't like the standard sling seats, but I find them simple and--with the addition of a small pillow for the lower back--quite comfortable. (And if I were to wax any more technical, the site administrators would wax my butt and make me move this to STS.)

Walgreen's it is. No CVS in these parts... not anymore. That RI company hasn't figured out how to thrive in southern markets (Florida doesn't count - very few southerns there
