Description: After a quick splash on Lake Rousseau, I followed the Rainbow River up to its origin at Rainbow Springs.

Rainbow Springs is Florida’s fourth largest. It has been in use for more than 10,000 years. The fact that it is a great location with crystal clear water within easy boating distance of the coast has been apparent for at least that long. Houses now crowd the river. There is still, however, a state park at the source.

(Not far from the source is also a sewage settlement pond. Sigh.)

From here it was an easy flight home. The gear was quickly fixed by installation of a new micro-switch. The ferry flight would have to wait another day, maybe tomorrow.
