Description: Lake Okeechobee is near the center of South Florida. The massive lake is a 730 square mile, relatively shallow lake with an average depth of 9 feet (but is currently 14') and is the second-largest freshwater lake located wholly within the continental United States, second only to Lake Michigan.

Along the Western Boundary a set of spokes leads out through the swamps; if I were Dan, there would be a thoughful explanation or a tale of pirates or whatever. For me, I suspect these spokes are from air boats, but who knows?

Let's just hope they're not mutant alligator tracks, Don.

Did you get any more pictures Frank, I've always wanted to go fishing there for lunker bass.

    Dave,
Indeed, the Big O is the place for lunker bass--or so I've heard. The place to
go is Roland Martin's Marina, seen
in the attached photo. They have Bass Tournaments that feature outta sight
fiiberglas paint jobs and big engines
and trailers parked everywhere. I suppose there's a fish here and there but I
was on a cruise at the time Attachments:
