There are plenty of places to hide, and for inquiring eyes to look.

Some former hiding spots are mostly gone in the current dry season.

There is no hiding major targeting opportunities for SeaReys bold enough to venture deep into the Ocala National Forrest.

The forest looks full of venomous machines, just waiting for victims to fly into their web, as nasty as a nest of murder hornets.

It makes targeting just too easy when the enemy builds bases to emulate a bulls eye.

Not every target is worthy of attack. Headliner: The latest model of the Fake News F-1000 Supercilious Fighter, stuck soft quicksand.

Who puts a clock on a targeted tower? Is it time to attack? No! Wait for the bell!

So, hiding behind shipping containers may work against ground bound infantry, but not when the birds of prey operate from a higher space.

These shots give entirely new meaning to "contain the enemy." Containment IS the enemy here!

The duplicitous defenders have sneaky schemes to make bombing more difficult: putting the targets on a giant rotating record player is just one of their devious plans.

Hahaha... not a good area to stop for a family picnic.
"Honey, do you hear something?" he said, pausing before taking a bite of his sandwich. His wife shook her head, "You and your imagination. What the..."
shhhhh.... BOOM!
"Hey, we're trying to eat our LUNCH, people!"

Just off the playing field, a light brigade awaits it's time on target.

After the hot-blooded thrill of aerially surveiling the apocalypse unleashed, it's nice to have a spring-fed pond for chilling.

Dan, your expedition into the St. Johns River wildland is great fun. But all along I kept thinking about the once-great Dead Fleet in the James River--which is now hardly even a memory. The last time I flew over it, there were only three or four vessels, and not the grand flotilla of yore, either. Of course, their purpose is different from your stealthy Containment Force. I don't recall anyone attacking the Dead Fleet.

We had one of those out near Vallejo, CA, where I grew up, Don, and like yours, it's long gone. Among other noteables, it included the battleship USS Iowa, the Glomar Explorer, and the Hughes Mining Barge, containing the Sea Shadow (think Dan imaged that once during a west coast sojourn.).

Luckily, some adventurous souls snuck onboard over a couple of years and explored.

There is just something about abandoned places, shipwrecks, and relics, Don, that excite the imagination. But maybe it's just because I'm a scavenger at heart. When it was pointed out that my project car-of-the-month was nothing but rust and bolts, I'd say, "But it's a Classic!" It's always sad to see the classics fade into oblivion.

That F-1000 looks as if Skunkwerks has suffered some serious Covid budget cuts.
