Terrific Brian! I've never flown up the East River that far. (And thought it was closed after 9/11.)

Here's my first view of The City from a SeaRey:

(My first view was as a passenger in the back seat of an L-19 that landed on the Governors Island parade ground.)

Dude shoulda asked for the option and done T&Gs. Worst case, they bag you for $600. Looks like he touched at LGA. Pretty cool
either way.

When I got to LGA tower - she did ask if we wanted to land there....

Word to the wise for anyone who wants to try it: If you touch down you MAY get a bill from the Port Authority for services, so instead ask for the option, and execute a rejected landing/go-around before the wheels touch.

Seems ike it's getting to be a popular pasttime/bucket list item now, as we were leaving SFO this afternoon a bugsmasher called on final for 28R, Tower approved a touch and go but advised that the Port of SF would assess a $200 landing fee if their wheels touched pavement, and did they want to change to a low approach, instead? hint hint. (they did)

Challenge for any CA pilot would be SFO-SJC-OAK, and as you depart OAK go over Alameda and the western span of the Bay Bridge, then the Golden Gate, recreating the China Clipper departure. We did it last week using the GAAPP SID on the way to Narita, we were having waaayyyy too much fun at work.
