Description: Bill Fosdick had an 80 hp Searey for many years. Eventually he bought a Legend Cub LSA on amphibious floats, a beautiful airplane that everyone admired.

But we were all puzzled when Bill traded that Legend Cub in on a new one. What's the big deal? we all said. It's just like the old one.

But it's not. The new one has a 180 hp engine. Let that sink in. 180 horsepower on an airplane with a maximum gross weight of 1430 lbs.

Still, it didn't seem like a very good deal--until yesterday, when we watched Bill take off from Pat's place on Lake Anna.

That's Pat beside my Searey. Pat's Ketfox on amphibs was up the hill with the wings folded, in his garage. Bill and a friend of Pat's are on the dock, beside the Cub. Bill was about to take off--and after we watched that happen, it's now a LegendARY Cub in my mind.

Here's Bill's takeoff. Unfortunately, my iPhone was NOT at the ready. It was in a case that I hadn't
adjusted right, so the camera decided to focus on the case instead of the airplane. But you may be
able to make out how the takeoff went. Count seconds between throttle up and astonished, delighted laughter.

(The goofy filename was assigned by the iphone when it uploaded the video here.)

Another good video Don. Always enjoy your travels and usually find something to learn. Like your 3-bounce landing gives me hope
that I'm not the only one! 😀 And that glare on approach was bad on the video; then it seemed to be a little better just before the
flare. And I noted the jacket and long pants; sorry...

You guys are killing me with these videos. I just ordered a 5tb hard drive to see if that helps. Where exactly is your camera mounted in the plane.?

Dennis, that time it was about 3 inches to the passenger side of the forward upright. I'd like it right where a passenger's eyes would be, to get myself out of the picture, but that means a longer mounting arm and more vibration.
