Description: Very unusual event. 173 homes damaged. You can see some of the
blue tarps in the photo covering the damaged roofs. I drove through
the area on my motorcycle then went to the airport for a better view.

    Wow! I guess what surprised me most is that there are so few blue tarps. If that storm had blown through where I live, the damage probably would have been a lot worse. I guess the improved building codes are working.

    I believe you are correct, Don. Many of these houses were built after Hurricane Charley when the codes became more strict. I also
believe the tornado hop scotched along its 3.4 mile path, causing hit and miss. I had a rental duplex lose a few shingles and the
house in front and across the street suffered major damage.
