Description: Here's the muddy James River joining the relatively mud-less Appomattox two days after Richmond (which is on the James) got 12 inches of rain one afternoon.

There wasn't much rain to the south, so the Appomattox wasn't affected much at all.

If you're a Civil War buff--I'm not--you might recognize City Point in the lower right. Something happened there in 1865, they say.
