Description:
Richmond is built right at the fall line of the James, and the downstream side of town is a seaport. It's not a very DEEP sea port, but it does get ships of some draft now and then. Here's one heading for the Atlantic Ocean. City Point is the one on the left in the background, and the Appomattox is beyond it. The James comes down from the right.
