Man, I wished we could leave after dark. The air was cool and felt like fall football but the water was still clinging to summer. Wading around was a pleasant contrast.

Soon, (at 6:35) we were off in the glow. Our meter for departure was the ripple as well as the light. We didn’t want the water to go glassy just as much as we didn’t want the light (or lack of) to challenge our skills. It was a non-event and we enjoyed the short 18 mile trip home. I got a big jump on the Lake Buc and diligently advised they avoid Streaker’s wake turbulence…

Back at the airport, Streaker got to use all her lights and I got to log a night landing for the first time in a number of months. Its was one of those evenings… short, sweet, beautiful, family time… its not really possible to plan this and would prolly be disappointing if it had been...
Sounds like you captured a memory. But, who brings the Flag and what's it's history?

I don't know the story behind the flag. Its always there. I'm sure part of its purpose is to mark those rocks. Its always nice to see it out there flying by itself.

What a great way to end the day! Now you need to get to work on getting Alex her own SeaRey, Bret.

I like your solution better... get the wife a fancy RV and she provides ground support. How exactly did you get Ann to agree to that? Last I heard, she had a SeaRey on order.

To tell the truth, I like it that the SeaRey is only 2 seats. Its like owning a sportscar as opposed to a truck. If you have a truck everybody wants to borrow it or asks you to help them move. If you have a sports car, everybody just wants a ride to the beach.

Steve's truck came in handy yesterday

Well, Bret, that's exactly what I mean! See, if you show them what a SeaRey looks like on the inside they'll want to drive. (At least that's the way it worked with Ann.) Actually Ann made a great sacrifice and sold her SeaRey to Bob so he could take it to Alaska and we could visit.
