I rode with Paige in the factory ship when I was doing my training. I could feel the extra kick of the 914. I am quite satisfied with the 912s however.

The thing I do not like about the 914 is that it requires 12Vdc to keep the fuel pump(s) running. If 12Vdc dies, so does the engine! I had an event where I was running an electric heater and did not notice it was running down the battery until the tach started acting funny. In trouble shooting, I tried cycling the gear and everything just died. If I had the 914, I expect it would have died also and a forced landing would have ensued. As it was, my 912s kept ticking like a clock and I landed an hour later with a fully charged battery.
