Don, all that shore debris doesn't look too hull friendly, would wheels down help that?

Maybe, Steve. With the tide out, the slope was gradual there, but the beach is mostly round river rocks, averaging about 3' in diameter. But some are larger, so I decided to leave the gear up and just beach it. There was only a very light breeze and almost no wave action. The KeelGuard worked well, and I saw no abrasions on the hull after getting back to the hangar.

Also, the bank rises steeply there, with no room to turn around on the beach, so I would have had to push the airplane back into the water--or wait until the tide was full. I was wearing shorts and water shoes, so it seemed best to wade. However, the guy who went for a ride wore jeans and heavy ankle-high leather boots--which he left on while wading knee-deep in the salty water. I'll bet he's having second thoughts about that today.
