Description:
The Lazair's pilot hopped out and pulled it up to the beach. It turned out that he was THE Dale Kramer--himself--the designer of the Lazair.
Here he's chatting with a pedestrian (even skinnier than I), one of several who stopped to enjoy the impromptu airshow.
Dale said he'd seen me fly past, down the lake, and had fired up the Lazair's two 18 hp two-strokers and come after me.
I told him I'd come to visit the Glenn Curtiss museum, which is a short distance from the beach. He promptly invited me to fly up the lake to his house--said he'd drive me to the museum later.
This particular Lazair, by the way, was built by Kramer and sold something like 20 years ago. He said he'd found it for sale on E-Bay just a couple of weeks ago and bought it back.
