Description: The mission of the day was to fly tandem fly with my buddy Steve and his Lake up to Laconia, NH to drop his plane off for annual. It about 40 degrees and sever clear. A perfect day.

Boston was so clear from 40 miles away. It felt like we were on top of it. Unfortuately, this photo does no justice to the view we had. I don't know why my camera didn't do a better job. I should have opened the canapy but my heater had it nice and toasty in there and I didn't want to ruin that.

Bret, does your friend Steve use my friend Steve Reep for his BFR?

Steve Reep? As in the guy who wrote the book 'Go to hull'?!?!
Anyone who has a Lake has got to read that book. A truly educational experience.

A true gentleman with over 30,000hrs and a fabulous flight instructor. Most SeaRey folk would benefit from the book too. Can't wait to take him up in my SeaRey(I hope). Believe he is over 80 years young.

Nice and toasty, huh? You wimp. I flew Friday for about an hour in my no-canopy Stingy. Quite comfortable with snowmobile suit and with the little chemical heaters in the gloves. My feet got a little cold, though.

I wanted to touch down on the ice on a local lake, but it's been so mild, the ice is thin, and actually open around the shorelines, so I didn't dare. Unbelievable for late January in Maine.
