Description:
My friend Matt and I flew 95 nm southeast from Richmond across the Dismal Swamp to the Weeksville, NC, blimp hangar, just south of ECG.
This is the metal hangar. That 'Blimphenge' in the foreground is two of the four remaining pillars of the wooden hangar that burned in 1995. The Pasquotank River flows into the Albemarle Sound, not far from Kill Devil Hills.
At the very left you can see part of the seaplane ramp. There used to be two runways, too, but they're closed. (But they're still in fairly good condition.)

That's right, Charlie. And then I showed Will and Orv how to do it. Tsk! They'd been having an awful time getting their little aeroplane off the sand. The trick was to turn it into the wind.
