Description: It's not a seaplane, but my new next door hangar neighbor Alan Lopez just moved in with this champion (Osh and S&F) Stearman. He published a book about his flying to every state in the continental United States and every Canadian Province, including the Maritime Provinces, the Yukon and Alaska in a stearman (not the one pictured) with only a chart, compass, and timer. Kind of a feet dry Dan Nickens. Check out: http://www.biplaneodyssey.com/10 points for guessing the exact model of plane.

    Which one?

The one in the book, N16CC, is a model A75N1(PT17). The one in this photo, NC785H, is a 4E. (So saith the FAA, which also saith that they both belong to Alan C. Lopez of Princeton, NJ, who appears to own yet another Stearman, N9055, a model M-2.) Jeez louise!
