Smart bird! Landing so as not to end up diced by your prop!

<vbg>

    Fortunately these guys are getting to be quite numerous in Florida. Unfortunately, they act as if the own the sky, and won't alter their flight path. I've ducked several lately.

    I had one form up with me in the Arrow I used to fly. First time I'd ever seen one in the wild - ever!

A few weeks ago, a sandhill crane 200' above and off to the left of my course decided to dive... unfortunately the wind was blowing him in my direction. A sharp climbing right turn downwind avoided him, but just barely.

I dunno if I'd duck an eagle. The conventional wisdom is that all birds will dive.

    The eagle I almost ran over the other day didn't dive. First time that's ever happened to me. He turned left and I turned right. I don't know who was more upset.

    I had a turkey vulture try to out fly me. He didn't. Always opt for the thicker windshield when possible.
