Description: Larry is about to commence a test flight in good friend Tony's Venture. This aircraft personifies the 'Dash' part of 'Splash an Dash'. Later in the day, Tony and I were cruising @13 US gallons per hour at 238 knots indicated, 2500 rpm and 25 inches of manifold pressure. Ground goes by fast at ALL altitudes. (g).

You forgot to read the dry cleaning only tag and put it into the wash and tumble dry.
Or you got my wife to wash your aircraft and she shrunk it like my shirts ?

Very cute.
Hi Frank:

LOL!

Yes indeed, everybody who sees 'The Egg On A Tripod' (I love that nickname!) on the ground, can't help but grin,.... and I don't blame them one bit. Of course, when you are piloting your twin turbine King Air cross country and this little dickens flies right past you at 275 mph cruise, the grins are strictly over in 'that Egg'. (g)

Very best,
Larry

We got one of them 'eggs on a tripod' here at Old Town airport. Got banged up and is off to the side of the field. It looks like some kind of wind vane.

Is this the same plane, with improved landing gear?

That is a really neat, really FAST plane. Nice Larry. This was desined by the guy who designed the Piper Meridian et al, isn't it? Gear looks like it belongs on an FA18!

    Hi Mark and Rick:

Most likely it is, as the Questair Venture experienced plenty of 'off runway excursions' as a result of landing gear gremlins, particularly in its early days. Delightfully, we have (finally) got the bugs out of the system and it has transformed the aircraft. Before the 'mods' were adapted, it was a nasty little $#%^ to land. Now, it is like landing a Cherokee. Mark, where is your airfield?

Rick, you are correct about the designer. His name is Jim Griswold and he indeed designed the Malibu. I count myself blessed that he has been a close pal for many years.

Best,
Larry

Old Town, Maine, KOLD. Currently without an FBO. Anyone want to run an FBO?
