Beautiful, John, but how does the fire charred area look? I imagine that it will take some time for that to recover, yes?

It will not look the same in our lifetime. Here is a weblink to some photos that I took for some of our friends who live 1/2 mile from where the fire started. The scary part is with 2000 fire fighters, helicopter and fixed wing water bombers, they could not contain it quickly. Just one of the reasons our house will be on the market soon! We watched the same thing happen a few years ago, while on the beach at the south shore of Lake Tahoe when an idiot tossed a cigarette out of the ski gondola at Heavenly. They did not contain that one either!
