Description: Kitty Hawk Kites does hang glider instruction on Jockey's Ridge, a big dune a couple of miles south of the Wright Monument. The store is on this side of the road,where the colored windsocks are, and at least one beginners class was up on the dune. (Top of the dune not visible here.)

    Don - I flew with them a couple of years ago. Great fun and quite safe too. I'd never done hang gliding but liked that they have you tethered at first so you don't get high enough to hurt youself should you crash and the sand is soft. I recommend them to anyone who can run.

    Ken, They don't make you fly dual, like Wallaby Ranch? I'd like to try that and would also really like to try paragliding. I found out today just how out of shape I am... More later.
