The airport is free, but I think you have to pay to get into the tourist entrance on the other side of the hill. There's no security for the ramp, just a 'Pilots and Passengers Only' sign. They built a new pilot building for the 2003 centennial celebration. It's unattended, but has computers and phones. The door has a keypad lock and a little sign beside it saying 'Squawk VFR'. That's my kind of security. They even had tiedown ropes yesterday!

The 'Squawk VFR' is clever. Another not so clever one, at a new gate of an airport in SC which shall remain <br />nameless: On the Key Pad was a note saying, 'To Open, press 1215' but the gate was always open. That's my <br />kind of security too.
