Description:
The day was old enough that I decided to stop at Kingman, Arizona and reconsider my master plan. I was a bit taken aback, however, when I saw that the ramp was stocked full with transport category aircraft. It seemed a bit much for a little SeaRey. I needed the fuel, though, so I stopped for the evening.
After landing I heard that a fast forming hurricane had just come ashore in Texas and Louisiana. The northern route I was on looked better all the time.
The daily statistics logged as follows: Local Test Flight, North Las Vegas 0.9 hours N. Las Vegas to Lake Mead and Pearce Ferry, AZ 1.5 Pearce Ferry to Boulder City, NV, 1.3 hours Boulder City to Sun Valley to Kingman, AZ, 2.1 hours
Total flight time, 5.8 hours Total float time, not enough

Somehow, Dan, that just doesn't look natural. (I mean the scene, not your photography.)

I know, Don. When I saw all those airliners sitting there I figured I had blundered into controlled airspace.
