Description:
Out on the bayou, it’s an aquatic life. I’ve heard hangar stories of a Buc II pilot that experienced engine problems and made an emergency landing near one of these bayou communities. He was retrieved by one of the hardy fishermen. Communication was a big problem, but eventually the downed airman was delivered to a nearby oil platform where he got help to get back in the air. The hospitality from all was reported to be beyond reproach.
It was late in the afternoon when I landed at Houma (pronounced “Home-ah”). There was still some beautiful day left for flying, but after more than eight hours I decided to give the ‘Rey some rest.
Logged for the day, Home to Apalachicola, FL (AAF), 3.1 hours AAF to Edwards, Gulfport, MS (JKA), 2.6 hours JKA to Houma, LA (HUM), 2.7 hours Total of 8.4 hours scenic cruising

Enjoyable photo tour and description of some scenic Searey suitable spots. Carolyn and I will be keeping warm with our flying memories of this area and the warm hospitality we received at your Taj Mahangar last winter. Thanks.
