Description:
Just on a whim while driving up I-95 from Garners and Sun-N-Fun, we diverted to 09J, the Jekyll Island Airport. I had flown over it several times, but had never landed--figured it must be a barren place full of mosquitoes. Wrong!

You were probably travel weary by the time you got there Don, but I believe that 09J is in south Georgia.

Jekyll Island used to be the playground of the rich and famous. There is a book called 'The Creature from Jekyll Island' about the meeting of FDR's cabinet and other big players to create the current economic system. (World Bank, etc.) The book is a paranoid rant, but it's educational in the thinking of the time.

You don't have to be famous now, Ken, although it helps to have a little money. These days, the Jekyll Island Club is a hotel, open to all kinds of riff-raff with credit cards.

When I stopped in they loaned me a courtsey truck to go get gas and then they loaned me a bicycle to peddle around on. Really nice place, Very friendly.
