Description: The hour log of N220WT turned over to 2000 on this day.
It was a mark soon eclipsed, but not so soon forgotten.

Every hour different.
Some hours unlike anything else.

Every hour up on top.
Some hours so very high.

Every hour in the wind.
Some hours quietly floating.

Every hour a lesson.
Some hours so hard to accept.

Every hour way out there.
Some hours out there on the edge.

Every hour memorable.
Some hours indelibly inscribed.

Every hour so alive.
Some hours the best of my life.

Well done Dan! Next stop Tierra Del Fuego?

Dan Nickens - Apr 27,2008 Viewers | Reply
Hmmm...there is a SeaRey owner in Chile. Maybe he would be interested (though he did tell me the length of Chile's coastline is far beyond his SeaRey's range).

Dan, I have relatives in Santiago if you need a place to stay...

Don Maxwell - Apr 28,2008 Viewers | Reply
Eric! Do you also have relatives in western Bolivia, perhaps, or southeast Peru--on the shores of Lake Titicaca? If so, maybe they'd like to host a SeaRey splash-in. ¿Sí?

    Only 914's need attend

That's a pretty high bar you've set, Dan. Only 1663 more hours and I'll have caught up with you!! That is if you were to stop flying now - which ain't gonna happen.

Dan for me your best sentence is (Some hours the best of my life) it did really hit me in the parts... wow... Je suis content pour toi et jespère que je vais atteindre ce chiffre en toute sUcuritU. I have a big 50 hours in my log and I though I knew everything, I feel so small now...hehehe (keep on seareying)

Best
Bruno

I envy you, Bruno, knowing the fantastic hours you will add to your log. The grandest hours are ahead of you. In all security? Perhaps not so much. The only absolute security is death, so..... la vie longue votre insUcuritU!

A well deserved congratulations for your many aerial accomplishments and the untold number of inspirations provided to so many builders and new flyers... and thanks for taking us along.

Just curious, Were all those hours on the same engine?

Dan Nickens - Apr 28,2008 Viewers | Reply
Not the same engine, Matt. The perfectly good 80 hp 912 was 'upgraded' to a 100 hp 912S at 560 hours.

Matt Tucciarone - Apr 29,2008 Viewers | Reply
Wow!! That still means that you went 1,440 on the 912s. That is good news. I have heard of people going over 2,000 hours with them but it was second hand hearsay. I only have 400 on mine and hope mine lasts like yours. Congrats. Just for fun, does anyone know the record hours on a Searey or Aventura airframe?

Bill Furr - Apr 28,2008 Viewers | Reply
Congrats Dan, What year was it put in service?

Dan Nickens - Apr 28,2008 Viewers | Reply
N220WT first flew in 1998, Bill.

Dan, I may hold the record for the most Seareys in one place but you hold
the record for the most places in one Searey.
Hats off to the Searey man...

Fred Glasbergen - Apr 29,2008 Viewers | Reply
That is a great accomplishment, glad you where able to do some of that time in my part of the world.

Don Maxwell - Apr 29,2008 Viewers | Reply
Dan, what I like even better than the 2,000 SeaRey hours is this part of your report: 'It was a mark soon eclipsed....' It's good to know you're not resting on your laurels!

    Surely a landmark - no, a seamark!!

The best part, in my humble opinion, is that you've spent many of those hours really moving the Searey around the country. I congratulate you on the time, but even more strongly thank you for allowing us to share your flights to all those places!
