Let the test pilot take his time and keep his airspeed up, Bård, and he'll be just fine. That it's a pusher is no big deal--it's a SeaRey!

Markku, you've probably already found 'FLYING THE SEAREY' in page 1 of the File Cabinet, over on STS.

Yes, I have that 'Flying the SeaRey' and also factory Flight Manual. Then from Technical site there is also many extra good tips for flying and experienced advice like you Don. But anyhow my previous experience is mostly with light tailwheel planes and motorgliders and Rotax / VW engines. Then some time with Cherokee also. So I did quite thorought thinking about flying this without any experience in this specific model. I had also plans to fly SeaMax (as we have those here) beforehand, but that didn't happend for many reasons... But then there are so many SeaReys flying already and I got really good advice beforehand that this first flight was no event even I had to apply right rudder all the time and my airspeed were totally erratic during that flight (things that are both now corrected). So I made my homework beforehand and that first flight were well. Second were even beter and during third I already relaxed a bit

Markku: I gotta say it....get in the habit of raising your gear on take off. Even if you don't cycle your gear in this phase of testing, reach over and touch the gear switch. Also, say out loud on landing 'gear down for land' or 'gear up for water'. It may save you a lot of heart ache and pain later.
