How did the departure go Don ??

Swimmingly! It was all downhill, and we got a good run on the soft spot.

The problem coming in was that the dock and the tree were only about 10 feet farther apart than the wingspan, so I was a bit timid with the throttle.

The most interesting part was that it took almost no towing effort to get the stuck tire out of the hole. I just looped a 100' nylon line around each gear leg at the bottom and brought the two ends and the middle loop up to the truck. Tied all four ropes together in a bowline around the trailer ball.

    Don,
The 100' line is just part of the well-equipped SeaRey?

Don Maxwell - May 17,2008 Viewers | Reply
Absolutely! I always carry at least one 100-footer and two 50-footers. Three 100's are better, but mine keep getting shorter.

Thanks, Ed--but I took the easy way out and just covered up some of the messy stuff. Markku Salminen has THE SeaRey cowling.

Don I like your semi condom oups semi-protection, I'll try to do similar Don its a good compromise. and good looking too.
Maybe one day when I'll be older I'll have my own full cowl...hehehe

It's mostly just cosmetic, Bruno, and it makes preflighting the engine more complicated. If I were you, I'd get the airplane flying again before thinking about making any more modifications or adding kitchen sinks and condominiums.
