In my earlier life, I spent lots of time chasing......ah, better not go into that. <br /><br />The dunes stretch for several miles in either direction, and were the wite of early glider flights by Chanute. The National Soring Museum dedicated the site as a National Landmark some years ago. Chanute used to transport his gliders from Chicago to the dunes by train!<br /><br />

Grew up on those dunes,, Closest to Chicago, when going to chgo beaches was out of the question, Nicer also
