Description: The Pacific Northwest is renowned for its rainy weather. There had been low clouds and rain since my arrival. The forecast, however, offered hope of a one day respite. A look out the window on the morning of departure didn’t offer much hope.

The official weather briefing called for caution. Early morning moisture obscured the mountains to the east. Marginal conditions were reported around the coast. Better conditions were expected later in the day, only to be followed by storm warnings for the evening.

With lots of faith in Peli and hope for a path forward, we launched.
