Description:
“The clouds aren’t getting any higher.”
“They aren’t getting any lower either.”
“Yeah, but it has been hours since we checked the weather. Storms could be covering the Florida peninsula. We should stop and check.”
“Well, we have used a lot of fuel. We’ll take a quick break at Bonifay.”
The weather didn’t look much better on the ground. Storms were already lined up south of Orlando.
“Now what?”
“Well, we’ll get as close as we can to the line, then we’ll land and let the storms pass.”
“What about the low ceiling?”
“It won’t matter when we get to the coast. We can go low there without worrying.”
“Except for the wind. It’s only going to get worse.”
“Yep. Well, that will just mean more flying time.”
“Except we’re using a lot of fuel. At high cruise it is burning more than five gallons per hour.”
“I suppose we’ll just have to watch it.”
“Yeah. Watch it. That’s a novel idea.”
