Description: “Lookout! Bird!”

“That’s no bird, it’s a balloon.”

“Well whatever it is, don’t hit it.”

“That’s exactly what I’m gonna do.”

“What?!?!”

“Target acquired, circling to engage.”

“Quit screwing around. It’s lunchtime.”

“No time for food….we’ve been served! The battle is on.”

“What battle?”

“The battle to clear the skies of foreign debris.”

“A balloon is foreign debris?”

“Yes, the insidious invader has escaped from its tether and threatens to become illegal litter. It has to be stopped.”

“How do you plan to do that?”

“By intercepting it. Tighten your belt, I’m turning in.”

“Hey! Not so sharp…we’re pretty low.”

“I’ll increase speed, turning in.”

“Hey! That was too close.”

“Not close enough. A chandelle will have us right back on his round tail. Hold on! Perfect, now we’ve got him.”

“This is crazy!”

“Drat! Missed again. It’s a wiley buggar.”

“Now you just cut it out. You don’t know what will happen if you hit that ballon.”

“I’m guessing it’ll pop!”

“Great. What if it pops into the radiator and blocks it?”

“It’s really cool today. If he tries to choke the radiator, I’ll land and battle hand-to-hand.”

“Well it could lodge in something critical....”

“Yeah, like what?”

“How about if it blocks off the air filter?”

“We’ll go down in defeat. Such are the wages of combat.”

“GEEZ!!!! You hit it!”

“Yeehaw! Did you hear that pop! Nuclear, dude!”

“I hope it was the balloon.”

“There it is…streaming to ground. I’m following it to confirm our victory.”

“Oh good grief. You can’t find a piece of plastic film out here and its past time for the Tiki Hut.”

    Hi Dan:

Your dialogues are hilarious..... and good work on the combat victory. I expect to see a balloon symbol painted on the side of your bird before the next flight. Tell Anne to get busy. (g)

Incidentally, when I first glanced at the photo, I thought the 'white' showing up in the background was a light dusting of snow. Cackling, and grinning as I recalled the powerful sweep of the last cold front we sent your way, I enlarged the photo. Alas, it was not snow but large sub divisions . Sigh. Maybe next time. (g)
best,
an envious Larry

Cold weather is perfect for balloon battling, Larry. The engine won't overheat if balloon shrapnel lodges on the water or oil radiator.

Pray tell !! I would love to hear your definition of COLD in Florida.

Below 60 is cool. Below 50 is cold. Below 40 and we stay home till it warms up...usually about an hour.
