Larry, have you tied your SeaRey up to that dock yet? And--I've forgotten--is there room for two? For half a dozen?

I have actually tied it up at the dock, but only temporarily, never overnight as I am concerned about vandalism. Recently installed a drive-on jet ski dock and I powered the Rey onto it. Probably could tie up at least 3 at the dock.

That's quite a spot larry. What is the elevation of the road versus the elev. of the lake.?
Do you get ' funny ' winds off the escarpment? looks gorgous.

The lake is at 1210' and the entry to our development is at 1400'.

The Linville Gorge is just above the lake and the open end of the gorge can supply some surprising winds. There is one large cove on the lake that is directly alligned with the gorge and sometimes there can be chop on the water from the gorge winds while the rest of the lake is calm.

Come on over to Marion and we actually have a better Mexican restaurant that the one at Rutherford County.

Mexican at Rutherford County? Tasted like a cheese burger and banana pudding to me. 9A9 is only 50 slow flying minutes from my place, Tony. I feel a Taco attack coming on!!

The owner specializes in his TexMex dishes. He spent most of his career in the Southwest managing Mexican restaurants.

    Larry,

You were right about the restaurant. Even though all I had was a burrito, it really was the best burrito I have ever had!

Thanks for the hospitality. I will definitely be coming back so you can give the our of your awesome house to Cheryl. I happen to know her pretty well and she is going to go crazy over the woodwork and the doors and floors.

PS
I looked at the video of my landing at Shiflet. The in cockpit view is downright boring. At no point in the video does it even look like I was about to be slammed into the ground. I'm starting to doubt my own perceptions of how turbulent it actually was.

Really enjoyed the visit, Tony and Jeff. You two are really hard core, flying on a windy, gusty, overcast, and cold day. And then when you hollered 'yee haw' on the radio as you you were being bounced around by the gusty crosswinds on short final proved that you are also crazy. Please bring Cheryl over anytime for the tour.
