Description: I got to put down 2 hours of PIC in a ski plane this day and what a blast, I had to cut it a little short because of previous commitments but Ron had a little more day light to go out and have some fun. When we left we had a full load of fuel and the two of us which put the 85 hp 120 right at gross. It took up most of the strip to get the ol'girl airborne with all of the snow trying to slow our departure.

Steve, glad you had a good day of ski flying. The guys here in Maine who spend oodles for expensive skis, some hydraulic, etc, are complaining about the lousy conditions on many of our lakes, due to the heavy snowfall. On most lakes here, you can see the slush coming up through snowmobile tracks. Even at the airport, the deep snow requires a lot of power for planes to get up on the skis. Some planes here don't have enough power to take off in this stuff, and end up going back to the hangar.
