Description: AOPA hosted a complimentary pilot breakfast and an informal presentation by AOPA President Craig Fuller about the current state of General Aviation. It was at Greenbier airport, a mere 50 miles north of me.

Free breakfast and meet the new AOPA President? Im In!!

Part of Criag's presentation was the hope that the promotion of the Light Sport category would help bring general aviation to youger folks.

He suggested that the next AOPA sweepstakes airplane would likely be a Light Sport.

I seized the opportunity to suggest that the Searey would be an excellent sweepstakes plane, largely for the FUN factor and that it is made in the USA unlike many of the Light Sport aircraft.

Craig appeared to be genuinely moved by my suggestion. I guess we will see....

I didn't bother to offer Craig a ride. The nearest operatoinal water I had identified was 20 miles away and Craig was about to go on his first ever P-51 ride.
