Description: Since I was in Alaska free of charge in the prime of fishing season, I decided to go Salmon and trout fishing. I flew out to Bristol Bay via Penn Air where the best Salmon fishing in Alaska is located. I arrived in the village of King Salmon which surprisingly had a large airport which was a windfall from WW II. You can see the tower here surrounded by Salmon gillnet boats. The tower is unmanned at the time of this shot. I think after the air traffic controller guides you in, he runs the baggage tractor.

    There was an Air Force Base in the area - at least in the 80's. I spent a week there installing a radio station in '85. Was a nice place to visit...<br /><br />
