Description: Vern Gorst was my grandfather's uncle. This was on a postcard sent to my grandfather 10 weeks after they began service. They already had 11,000 passengers. This is a cabin-class seaplane. Any idea what kind it is?

    Thanks Eric.
I learned a lot of new things from the article and found interesting reminders of some old family stories.

A friend of my grandfather hitched a ride on a PAT flight from Los Angeles to San Francisco to pick up a motorcycle he had left there. While over the Tehachapi Mountains the pilot ran into fog and bailed out, leaving the passenger to die. I think that is probably a breach of ettiquette.
