I live six months in Tavares, Every fire truck, every police vehicle, all work vehicles, the garbage trucks, both their water taxies, bear the logo 'Americas Seaplane city' Most entry points into town bear the same. Alleyways are being named for aviators. Far cry from my other six months in Illinois!

I can't imagine Tavares actually making money from this directly, but I sure hope they do. I hope every aviation rag gives them free advertising. I assure you, I'll be giving them my business again. They couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. Having a town on our side probably goes a long way toward protecting our rights when people start trying to take away our flying freedoms in central Florida. I hope to retire near here and will tell them so.
