Description: The earlier problem with the transponder was forefront in my mind as I called for my squawk code. I decided I’d bluster my way through it as though I’d never heard a complaint.

It worked. The Cleveland controller never said a word about it. Maybe he didn’t care. In any case, it was less AFT for me.

Pelee Island marks the first land in Canada. It also marked the spot where I lost radio contact with the Cleveland controller. Loss of CoST is not a real emergency. I was somewhat comforted by the idea that Canadian Customs is a lot easier to deal with than my fellow countrymen, so I flew on.
