Description: Yes, there is life without EFIS. This is how my SeaRey's much modified instrument panel looked today, after I sent my Dynon D-10A in for repair: no horizon, no AOA, no VSI, no ball, no altimeter, no nuthin'. But there's a yaw string just above the compass, and I filled the Dynon's hole with an ancient altimeter.

Maybe now you will get to spend more time looking out the window.

Gee, I don't know, Don, the screen showing terrain looks a little hazy. The trees aren't quite green enough. Try adjusting the contrast?

Don, I think it would look much more elegant with some black screws.

...and slot screws to boot. <br /> Notice that the Dynon 'keep alive' doesn't work either.<br /> Does that yaw string double as dental floss?<br /><br />I think that Don has severely disappointed us here !

What is that 'no altimeter' in the middle??

Ohhh. John, you're right about the altimeter. I was thinking of the Dynon's altimeter. The little non-precision altimeter is just about useless, so I filled the big hole with the old precision altimeter that was under water for three days and three nights. It still didn't work reliably a year later, but now it does fine. It's the closest thing I had to a VSI.
