Description: The welcoming committee--the very formidable Helen Woods, chief flight instructor of Chesapeake Sport Pilot. CSP is probably the biggest and most innovative Sport Pilot training center in the eastern half of the country. Maybe in the whole world.

They've committed to buying a SeaRey LSX for seaplane training. It has to be an S-LSA, mostly for insurance purposes, so they're very eager for PA to get the S-LSA SeaRey LSX ready for sale. Helen is famous at PA for asking, 'Where's our SeaRey?' She has a good number of students waiting impatiently for training to begin.

When the sLSA SeaRey arrives, it will owe a debt of gratitude to Helen for her persistence in insisting that there be one.

Here are a couple more shots of Helen. She already flies the SeaRey well and should be an excellent instructor. It'll be a real boon to the community once her school gets their own SeaRey and she and her other instructors gain a little more experience. As far as I know, they'll be the only SeaRey CFIs in the Mid-Atlantic area.

Helen is like a force of nature. I hear that she's one of a select group--of maybe 2 or 3--who have gotten a SeaRey to perform in ways that a few years ago no one thought possible. Attachments:

sLSA brings a level of 'authenticity' to a plane, I suppose. But having a true flight school use your plane does so even more, IMO. When I fly up the coast next summer, I'll be sure to stop by.
