Description: After lunch it was time to start the demo rides. But we all kept looking to the west, where the sky was darkening. At 2:30 the booms began and the rides stopped. A look at the radar showed that rain had already reached KFCI, so I wasn't going home after all. Everyone started pushing airplanes into the hangar--N1123XM ended halfway back in the hangar, with two rows of LSAs tied down outside on the crosses in front of the hangar door.

Maryland's famous crabs for dinner. Snug harbor for the night. There were flashes and booms until dawn.

In the morning the ceiling was 800 scattered. I was ready to do more rides, but the flight school won't allow students to fly if they're likely to smash into clouds and they insisted that the rule apply to SeaRey demos, too, so we waited until the ceiling went up. Then more rides. Lots of interesting conversations.
