The SFO Terminal Area Chart shows the class B airspace and the front page is available for viewing at http://skyvector.com/. At the top of their page 'mouse over' to 'Charts' then, 'TAC' then slide over to the SFO area and select 'SFO TAC'. The back side, which shows some VFR routing does not display, however. As I was based there for 26 years, I give Carolyn her personal Searey Bay Tours. My tour comes in 1800 feet MSL from the northeast from KMEV and stays over water, west of Angel island, over the center of the Golden Gate bridge then down to 1400 feet MSL south along the coast to KHAF. That routing/altitudes are below the Class B airspace. The third party chart, locally available in California or by phone, has more details about routes and landmarks. Spring and Fall or between storms in the Winter give clear days. Fleet Week is scheduled for October in normally good weather. YouTube Bay Tours can be viewed from the comfort of your home computer.

Thanks for the info John. I bet your tour is awesome. I wish I had your info around 1990 when I blundered around SFO and OAK giving some relatives a "tour" . They said they enjoyed it but I didn't get to see anything--too busy with ATC and remaining VFR with some low clouds.<!-- >'">
' or > missing in user HTML. Great shot John, I'll bet many great PAA flying boats passed your spot years ago.

John, I grew up in Alameda and as a Navy brat I used to hang out on the seaplane ramps at NAS Alameda. My first published article was a small one about the PAA Clippers. Later I did all my CFI'ing at Santa Rosa and Petaluma, and one of my closest memories is launching a Duck 160 into a convergence and soaring over C launch on Mt. Tam.....

Your photo brought back many great memories. Thanks for that.
