Description: Once upon a time it was exciting to splash in at Russ and Lou Ann's place. Rescue helicopters, fire trucks and deputies would show up. I blame the Colonel's landing and the small black water birds that splashed in after him.

I know they didn't get him for speeding. Illegal parking is my guess.

A friend of mine was on lake Maitland in his Kolb years ago and a cop pulled up in a boat
and gave him a ticket. On the ticket he wrote as the vehicles description 'Full Lotus' LOL

Ticket for what? They have no jurisdiction over aircraft.

That lake was closed to seaplanes by the city council.

In this case the Sheriff was part of a rescue squad. He and the fire department turned out within minutes of our landing after a motorist reported seeing an airplane go down in the lake. (I made a great landing, but maybe the motorist was worried about Frank's?)

As soon as we landed, we taxied up behind Russ' house. Out on the water a flock of black ducks landed on the lake. From a distance they looked like an oil slick.

The responders couldn't have been nicer or more welcome. (Just in case the photographer was hiding in Russ' hangar.) It helped that Russ had a licensed seaplane base. (Or maybe it was more Lou Ann's offer of spaghetti?)
