7,500' in a Searey must had given you a nose bleed.... Was it low cloud or more favorable winds that put you up there.

Jamie, long story short, bad weather headed south from Chicago reported to have<br />70 mph winds turned my long XC to osh into a 1,000 mile roundtrip back the way I just came from. Atlanta ap gave me vfr through their airspace if I could stay on top. It was like this back to KMCN where I tried to play weather game and lost. Returned home from Macon in the morning trying to beat the thunderstorms home.

Well, what the heck, Russ--you had a SeaRey adventure! Nothing wrong with that.

I know you’re right Don, I should be content with making the right decisions but I didn’t accomplish what I set out to do so in that sense I’m bummed. Don’t get me wrong, flying a small plane solo on a long cross country can be a very rewarding, adventurous and fun thing to do and I have done that before in my Warrior flying it across the US solo but I’m not getting any younger so I feel I need to get some of these thing’s that I think I need to do done while I can and Osh is one that I've been trying to get done for a long time.

Russ, I know exactly what you mean. It's hard enough flying up-weather--much harder flying up-time!<!-- >'"><br><font color=red size=6>' or > missing in user HTML. Please fix the HTML.</font> -->
