Description: With the exceptional
weather we've had recently,
I couldn't pass up on an
opportunity to fly out to the
South shore of Long Island
NY to meet up with a friend
that was out kayaking in the
Great South Bay along Fire
Island. The shores of Long
Island call out to be
explored. Yes, it's salt water,
but you will miss out on
some great places to set
down in, all along the island.
Just give her a good fresh
water splash afterward, a
good scrubbing, some
corrosion X and your good to
go. Just a short flight East
along the South shore you
will find some of the most
exclusive real estate in the
Northeast. The Hamptons
draw some of entertainment
biggest name to the area. If
that's not your cup of tea,
there are vineyards, quaint
seaside towns, and some fun
little airports to explore. Fly
over or just set down on
several public airstrips with
the laid back feel of a country airport. Hoping next
year to set up a get together
in the area. Our neighbors
up north should come down
and maybe even some of
you folks down South. A
Hudson river corridor tour
through NYC is another
option, those here that have
done it enjoyed the
experience.

Joe, Just East of NYC. Most of the South shore of Long Island is protected from open ocean, which leaves plenty of places to explore. There are more bays along the South shore and the East end of the island between the forks, than can be explored in one day. Well worth it.<!-- >'"><br><font color=red size=6>' or &gt; missing in user HTML. Please fix the HTML.</font> -->

Paul - I used to tour my friends down the Hudson and around Ms Liberty. The view &amp; experience always blew them away.

Paulo, you should call LGA Tower and ask if you can get a flyby in tribute to Captain Ford and the 70th anniversary of his flight. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.wingnet.org/rtw/RTW003B.HTM">http://www.wingnet.org/rtw/RTW003B.HTM</a>
