Description: 7 year old Lainey Cheeseman is on her second ride with Mr. Russ in his SeaRey amphibious seaplane. Kim, Lainey's mom says Lainey never stopped talking about her first ride a few months ago with Mr. Russ so when someone is that taken by the experience I try to keep there dream going. She had no fear of flying a small plane the first time she went up with me and was yanking and banking right off the bat. Same for her second ride, she wanted the controls as soon as we were off the water. She did let me fly a little but she definitely has no problem with flying.

I see she let you sit in the left seat, Russ. Must be a nice kid.

Don, I've had her dad up a few times and he loved it also. I would guess there's a father daughter flying team in the future here.

It's always great to hear a youngster who likes airplanes; it's even better to treat them to a
ride in your SeaRey. Neat Russ.

BTW how do you like the David Clarks? Are the new or old models?

Frank, I gave Lainey a EEA Young Eagle Certificate to frame and hang up in her room. I did a lot of Young Eagle flights out in CA in my Piper Warrior. I could get up to 5 kids in the plane at a time. I picked the one kid for the right seat that jump at the question 'Who'd like to be the Co-Pilot'. I try to pick the days where the air is smooth and not much wind for their first flights.

I've had these Dave Clarks for over 20 years and they're as good today as they were when a bought them. I've had to use other headsets while teaching someone in their plane and more then once was glade I brought along my old Dave Clarks as a backup.

Russ, did you know that EAA will send you a box of stuff for Young Eagles including log
books, etc.? I found it on their website.

Thanks for the tip, I'm gonna dig out my 28-year old DC's and see how they perform--at
least while my Lightspeed is back at the factory for repairs.

Great photo, Russ. You and she will remember it for a long time.
