At 6000' with a headwind, one gets to wonder about the scenery. These made me wonder about the difficulties of farming and wondered if there was a message here.

Yeah, but look at the alternatives, Frank: golf course, house construction, sand mining, or four wheeling. I'd go with the four wheeling. It might not be profitable, but at least it would be fun. And, best of all, there is no license tax to interfere with the profitable fun.
