Who said an airport can’t be scenic? Flowers and flags adjoin the Palomar airport.      Attachments:

And is the Flag of flowers as well?

    It is indeed, Frank.

A DC-3, Doug and his Dog still have a spot at the airport. The City of Santa Monica has been trying for a while to evict everyone else.      Attachments:

The Peoples Republic of Santa Monica, as they were called by airport tenants, <br />was in the eviction mode in 1986, and probably before that.

Row Houses, but with a decidedly different price tag than what we associate with <br />the term.

Couldn't spot the price tag from 1000', Frank, but the view is priceless.

The Golden State not only derives from its gold mines, but from its golden hills of summer.      Attachments:

An old lava flows head out of the hills and into valley.<br /><br />Lava flowed from the Little Walker Cauldera 9 million years ago into a river valley. Up to &#188; mile wide and 1000’ tall walls of basalt now parallels the Stanislaus River. Sediment around the filled valley eroded leaving it elevated above the surrounding landscape (an inverted river valley). Turns out that like other California streams there was gold in the river gravel. Hundreds of millions of dollars of gold were extracted from the lava covered gravel beds.      Attachments:

Dan, you most have rocket engines on that Searey. Palomar is a great old airport along the Southern California coast just south of Camp Pendleton.

N415RK has been known to cover some territory, Russ.
