Description: We diverted from I-95 to have another look at the Havre de Grace SPB--and found that it has a new owner and that the area has been cleaned up considerably. Not sure what else the new owner plans to do, but were told that he does plan on fixing it up considerably.

The locals say that HAVruh dee GRACE is the correct pronounciation, by the way. But some said HAVer de GRACE.

Restaurant next to the SPB. There are lots of other eateries in easy walking distance. Also several B&Bs. Attachments:

Hey Don, I wrote this up last year (I cannot figure out how to search this site or I would post the link). HdG is a great SeaRey stop. The SPB is very accommodating and the town is nice. Leave the plane bobbing in the V-dock, get a B&B and eat at Laurrapin - an amazing restaurant: local foods, great drinks, etc.

I flew into HDG last weekend. At low time. Bad move. Followed Chuck's advice and landed up river and motored back. East of the bridges there were lots of boats kicking up the water quite a bit, and some of the wakes washed over my canopy, so glad I did. The v-shaped dock had been trashed and was not usable. I came in slow, with the wheels down. About 10 yards out hit something unknown under the water and I was powered down and out wading in a flash. There were concrete blocks and other unidentifiable debris under the surface. Scott, the fella that runs the place is very nice, very helpful and pleased to see SeaReys. Restaurant looks nice enough, but I didn't stop. Had a gear issue and needed to get out of there for other reasons. Motored straight out and then just blasted out into the bay in the great way that a classic with a 914 can, lifting off in a couple of hundred feet. I hope they can get HDG up and running, but I suspect the main landing lane east of the numerous bridges will be questionable during heavy boating season.<!-- >'">
' or > missing in user HTML.
